About me

I’m Kiran, 28-year-old gal currently residing in Toronto, Ontario. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in March 2011 (see post “Crohn’s Made Me Healthy! No, seriously….”) which dramatically changed the trajectory of my life. Prior to that point I was working on a First Nations reserve in remote Alberta with plans to pursue community development internationally. I ate what I wanted using food to satisfy my palate and nothing more. I treated my body like a garbage can both physically and emotionally. Sad, but true. After I got sick I became obsessed with getting healthy. I quit my job, moved back to Ontario with a mission to seriously heal myself. I now LOVE happy gut foods (foods that make your gut happy of course). I love talking about happy gut food, I love making happy gut food and I love eating happy gut food. I am a firm believer in the healing power of food.

Here, I share my healing journey and everything that has worked for me including many anti-inflammatory recipes.

Happy guts, happy us 🙂

    Hey stranger!

Simran and I decided to get busy with making the recipes from your wonderful website. As expected, it was a wild success. We made the cholay and the kindney bean and spinach curry. Wowzas! My next project is the burgers and I want to embrace the dessert recipes to the fullest! We love what you are doing!

Keep it up and please say hi to your boy!!
